Leticia Chavez-Paulette and Lorena Lopez, from Albuquerque NM, are tender souls whose lives took a wrong turn. Both struggled with substance abuse and went to prison. Lorena had gang affiliations too, finding her way there after suffering extreme abuses as a child, and later as a young woman. In both cases, kindness and Christianity took them out of the pit and gave them the strength to radically change their lives. Leticia in particular, felt she was called by God to do something to help. She is the beloved founder of “A Peaceful Habitation”, a support center and ministry that helps women out of jail and out of addiction. Lorena found her way there through her Christian group in prison ("God's Pod"), and now helps both traumatized children and mothers regain a sense of acceptance, love and normalcy in their lives.
